TERM 1
This was the day where i felt really bad about my fate for the complete day, Reason i was put in section A where as all the good looking girls were in section B (dont judge me on this :)), added to this my mentor was G.K.Nayak (look out for him in the future story) seniors adviced me its better if i leave the college for this, but the saving grace was sriram in the same section. Then started the b-school education, it was fun on the first day. Everything seemed fun and interesting, Govindarajan looked like sachin tendulkar at his best (when he score 183 against new zealand at hyd). I started appericiating myself for my decision of selecting MBA against MS or a Job. Then came the first assignment of forecasting methods by G.K.Nayak to be submitted by 12:00 am the same day. I thought there should be some mistake in the notice, assuming that its impossible to submit an assignment at night at 12. Then came to know that we were supposed to upload the assignment onto AIS(accademic information system). I thought this was fundoo. My group mates were jacob, kamal, gunjan, himanshu. Again was unlucky not to have roll no 26 in my group ( my fate keeps on cheating me on this aspect). Already knew quite a bit about kamal as he was always participative in the class discussions(in fact major part of the 90 mins consists of his involvement), but was not very much familiar with other three people. Jacob is a very nice guy from kerala, somehow felt he came too early to a b-school on the first time i saw him. Gunjan a graduate from Shriram college, feared talking to her much relying on the vast experience i have talking to girls ( now u can pity my condition).himanshu was a guy of his own world. It was fun to work in the project, i could contribute atleast something to the group. Days passed with classes taking most part of the day, with Geeku flooding us with his assignments. Then suddenly one day marketing quiz was announced, one should see the seriousness with which people were preparing for the quiz. It was a quiz for 20 mins, there was a word limit, extra word will be penalised with a negative mark. it was fun preparing for the quiz.
Orientation programme:
Had a first time chance to look at all pgp-1 girls together. Had some gyaan session in the start then suddenly were asked to put all the chairs aside, i was waiting some one to pick them up for me, but had to pick it myself to follow the suit. Then there were some really cool games, i never expected such games to be played in any educational institute. But was a good start up to know each other, and nice way to start talking to girls. Made lot of friends in these few days. Could not stop myself from writing this, me and sriram were talking in telugu about good looking girls( i guess you people know what talking about girls mean) who were performing on stage as a part of a HR game. Suddenly we here a telugu voice from behind, it was aparna. I really hoped that she did not hear whatever we were talking about. Now we became a good friends. Already during this session had a taste of faff-masters on rampage, while they were explaining their experience in these 3 days
My room no: B-147:This was my room in the first year strategically located with 4 seniors and 4 juniors. First guy to meet in the block was Kishore lanky south indian from coimbatore. There were lot of similarities between both of us, both from south , both were freshers, both were engineers, both had job offer from syntel. Then there was Shakti, a hulk from Bhubaneshwar was very docile in the first few months then donno why he turned out so violent after that. He is a very nice guy, who is always there to help you, he helped me out and familiarised me to bhubaneshwar. Sudeep, a short guy with 2 yrs of work exs, though he does not seem so. these were the juniors in our well. Seniors Pabs, maximus, adonis, attila. I had real fun with all these people though i was the element of fun most of the time. I have experienced the hardships of life literally, where people used to thrash me up for the sake of fun. I miss those people.
My two yrs at a b-school:
This is part of the series which talks about my experiences at XIMB.

Reason why i came to a b-school : got bored of engineering and related stuff. This was one place and phase in my lifetime i have learnt a lot, which i can treasure for lifetime. I feel fortunate enough to be here along with all the great people around. The best part of XIMB was there was no competitive pressure, which would have detered my relationships with my peers. Everyone is cheerful and do not mind to share their knowledge and experience with others (as is not the case with other b-schools esp:IIMs).
My first day at XIMB:I was accompained by my dad (he thought i was too chicken to take care of myself), here i am now where i can claim to take care of my self at any foriegn land, gyaan apart. First guy whom i met on campus was sriram (naturally being a telugu guy). He is a stud from IIT, kgp, very modest soul, talks very less about IIT unless asked. Then met a dude from delhi , Arpan was a flambouyant guy with a fluent english speaking ability, looking at these two i thought i am at a wrong place felt inferior when compared with these two. Three of us went for a walk, both of them started talking about novels ( still an unexplored area for me), sports played at their college, only thing i played till then was cricket n cricket. In a chat of 20 minutes i was able to speak twice or thrice. Then met Samiran (called as jamadar dont know why?) then i thought there were some people like me as well, We were talking about GRE, MS other b-school calls and about other stuff regarding engineering. I was feeling comfortable talking to him, then sudenly he started talking about his girl friend and other stuff . Enquired about if I had a girl friend , then my xpression was there to be seen ( i can count the number of girls i had talked to in mylife time till then). But the best thing was everyone was down to earth. Then we all gathered to play cards. It was fun!!!.I reached my room at 12 where my dad was waiting to talk to me. Then i guess he realised that i got myself (too) comfortable with the place.
uff i did not knew i can be verbose as well......

Trip to Satpada:

Yesterday i visited satpada and puri.
It was an awesome experience, there were some really cool things that happened.
I got a chance to see the puri jaganath from a close proximity(pious side of me :))
Had a great time at the puri beach, one of the safest beach in the country. If i did not get drowned then no one can get drowned in this beach. Went to satpada from puri, were a bit late, by the time we reached there. Was able to see ( fins) of 2 dolfins. they were barely visible . Again it was ambitious to expect to see them in full flow as seen in TV shows.
Boat journey was great had some good prawns at the sea mouth,
At the end of the day i could not stop myself from appreciating the beauty of nature.
Most important thing was the company i had all along was really cool.
I was along with my friends Ram, Venky ,Richa, Seema ( they were in different car)
Me, Satyen, Manu, Sudeshna (we were in one car).

Did not inform parents about the trip. Planning what to do in march whether to go for some trip.
I feel that i have spent enough of dad's money and should think about extravagant spending once i start earning, but donno whether i will get this oppurtunity in future, can i meet these friends in future.

so chill ppl bye for now

Its individual brilliance :

I had a small chat with my GnG prof yesterday. It was after the class for some doubts :)
One cannot stop admiring at the depth and the breadth of the knowledge this man has.
It ranges from global economics, war economics, governance issues , yoga and firms in particular. There are some people who talk about different issues in the world and complain about them, there are very few who try to understand the reasons behind the policies , try to find the alternative designs. And our prof falls under the second category.
If one could achieve atleast 10% of what he has achieved , then that can be considered quite an achievement.
