Rendezvous with a typical Hyderabadi:

Strange things happen to you when you travel in Hyderabad’s busses.
It was 7:30 at night, had a pretty boring day at office, there was a drizzle for few minutes, so it was damn humid when I got into the bus. Sweat dripping all over my face, and a feel of the Hyderabad crowd. Was pretty disgusted and was off for a long time. Then some guy asks me if he could hold my bag, I said its quite heavy, still he insisted. While taking my bag he asked me whether he looks like someone who is drunk. I was taken aback by this statement and was wondering as to why he asked me that.
May be he thought I was ridiculing his generous offering, or do I look like a bar tender who can find out who is drunk and who is not. I did not reply anything, he started narrating his story. He bunked his office and went for a party, had a couple of beers according to him its not at all considered boozing. He was apprehensive as to his parents might find out that he is drunk. He continued telling me about his daily itinerary.
Now I know who are in his family, where does he work, when will he be at a particular hour in the day.
I was amazed at the openness with which he was sharing his information. I thought may be I could reach that stage where I do not have any inhibitions sharing my information with others and just talk to others without any pride.
This conversation made me think as to why does he need to tell me all this, how am I related to him, will I be of any help to solve his woes, any answers??
