Can we do something?
These days my allegiance is shifting from melodious and soothing music to rock music. I wasn’t quite a rock fan earlier, but I used to like some of their tracks like metallica’s nothing else matters, linkin park: In the end. These days I started liking most of the pink floyd’s work. Few days back I was watching Vh1 channel, they were broadcasting some show for helping poor in Africa. In one of their breaks they showed this touching documentary which gave the following facts:
We spend $50 billon per year for sneakers.
We spend $75 billion on purchase of fashion accessories
We spend $300 billion on liquor
We spend $600 billion on tours and travels
We spend $50 billion on branded clothes

And the most touching statistics:
$50 billion can save 50,000 lives per day. So can we do something?

This started me thinking, can I do something about it, I came up with all these weird ideas like not spending much on branded apparel, substituting them with the local ones and save the difference for charity. For someone like me who just got his job and looking for avenues to spend money (clothes being one of the major arena to spend) this comes rather as a serious task. Lets see how do I stand on this.
